Woman-Owned Catering Company in Albany, NY
Healthy Café Catering Company started off with no formal business plan, and no storefront or restaurant in downtown Albany. At the time, owner Betsy Manware, had a passion and a dream to own her own catering business. She acquired her own warehouse and commercial kitchen in 2018 in Albany, and soon extended catering services to Troy, East Greenbush, Schenectady, and Clifton Park. Twenty years later, she will attest that it was a lot of hard work, a desire to succeed and investing in an exceptional staff that has allowed the business to grow. With 3 women at the helm, who share a passion for delicious food, professionalism, and outstanding customer service, they have created a recipe for success.

Growing up in a big Italian family, food was such a part of our culture. That’s when I realized that connecting with family and eating amazing food was a gift that I will always cherish.
I attended Russell Sage College and graduated with a B.S. in Health Education. What was supposed to be summer job at a friend’s deli turned into a management position, which led me to managing a food truck for 11 years. Then
I got this crazy idea of starting a catering business, I thought it would be fun!
Twenty years later, the business still focuses on providing fresh, made from scratch, innovative food and yes, we still have fun! I take immense pride in our customer service and the relationships we have built over the years with numerous businesses, nonprofits, and corporations all over the capital region.
It has been an honor to assist so many clients with planning their family gatherings and allowing us to be a part of their celebration.
I am proud to be a small woman owned business, and I am grateful for the women, past and present, who I have employed over the years who shared their knowledge and craft that has led to our success.
A couple of tidbits about me, If I could be anywhere, it is simply outdoors. I am a lover of all things in my perennial garden. I have a passion for animals. I feed the deer in the winter and give them names. I would have ten dogs if I could. I reside locally on seven acres with my wife, Maryann, our Golden Retriever, Cinnamon and our King Charles Cavalier, Vivian. Life is Good!

By age 10, I would stage my very own cooking show in the middle of my family’s kitchen, talking away and explaining every step of the recipe, like I was the next Rachel Ray. I loved watching the Food Network as it allowed me to discover my passion for food.
I attended Schenectady County Community College’s Culinary Arts program, where I loved being with people who shared the same passion for food. My internships gave me the opportunity to learn how to cater for hundreds of patrons at a time, which led me to a Sous Chef position with Cirque Du Soleil that toured across the country.
Missing my family, I came back to the area, and I took a Catering Sous Chef position at the Health Café Catering Company. My role was the Garde Manger, where I dabbled in all facets of the kitchen. I was so eager to learn every recipe on our menu. Three years passed and the Executive Chef position opened, and I was ecstatic to take on the challenge of managing the entire kitchen at age 23.
I love sharing my knowledge and experiences with people who share a passion for food. My long-term goal is to travel around the world and experience the different cultures and their take on food in hopes to create my own fusion-cuisine inspired menu with all my love, passion, and smiles.

I had a passion for cooking since I was young, experimenting in my mother’s kitchen every day after school. It led me to attending Suny Cobleskill, where I have a degree in Business Administration with a focus in Culinary Arts.
I worked various jobs in the culinary industry, from chocolatier to executive chef, and catering weddings and special events across the Capital Region and Hudson Valley. Catering was what always resonated with me the most and soon realized it was the right path for me.
In my role here at The Healthy Café Catering Company, I help our clients plan their special occasions and events. I find it rewarding making their vision come to life and to help alleviate the stress that comes with planning an event. At the end of the day, I want them to have peace of mind that their event will go smoothly, and they can relax and enjoy their guests.
In my free time I enjoy trail walks with my dog, Wynnie, and spending time outdoors chasing my son around the playground.

Robin Snavely
Robin joined the Healthy Café Catering team in October 2022, starting as a prep cook and delivery driver. She has grown and evolved into a Sous Chef position; grilling entrees, assembling cold menu items, and is a prepping machine. She is the essential ingredient in our kitchen: she is very organized and efficient in every task thrown her way. When she’s not running around the kitchen Robin is enjoying her time with her close-knit family; she loves sharing laughs and making memories with her husband, kids, sister and adorable grandchildren.

Zachary Geddies
Prep Cook
Zachary Geddies
Zac joined the Healthy Café Catering team in May 2022, starting as a prep cook and delivery driver. He has evolved to Deli Station, prepping, and is the most optimistic dishwasher this team has ever seen. Zac’s role is essential in any kitchen, but to have him as a part of our team allows us to run like a well-oiled machine. Every task given to Zac is received with a smile and positive energy that also is perceived by our customers with every breakfast or lunch delivery he makes. In his spare time, Zac enjoys kayaking, but music is his primary passion. When he is not being a caterer, he thrives in his band who play at booked gigs in the Capital Region and have traveled on tours around the Empire State.
